i've been to lots in my short time on earth, so here's a lovely list of them! ignore some of the older ones... i was a kid, okay?
active child
wild show put on by KCRW. we were all sat in the pews while he played harp & sung & smoke machines made a layer of fog at our feet
i was maybe 6, and i've never had such a mystical experience
here come the embarrassing ones! look away...
maroon five & the weeknd & others
katy perry
taylor swift
lorde
panic! at the disco
twenty-one pilots
sylvan esso
one of my favorite bands :] i'll always enjoy them, even if they aren't always my most listened or whatever
fall out boy & weezer & green day
still a little embarrassing, but really fun, regardless
green day was absolutely the highlight, though
really fun to go with my mom :]
yoko ono tribute concert
ebo taylor
oh my god, it was so full of life ! the dancing was surreal & amazing
god, i love jazz
orville peck
i am so obsessed with him... literally spent the entire time jumping & squealing & throwing myself at my girlfriend
speaking of which-- very wonderful show with my girlfriend :]
ty segall & freedom band
y la bamba
forsythia & the four & virtual nobodies
hozier
dengue fever & ‘daz & the demons’
serpentwithfeet
very odd but cool... took on a sort of play / musical form despite being a concert?
beautiful storytelling, too-- followed a gay bar and the trauma & drama & struggles surrounding it with a main character & his romance as the focus. i cried
the weirdos & the avengers & alice bag band & allison wolfe
Wild old people punk pit... kind of cool, kind of not
met alice bag which was a blessing
black flag -- most fun i've had in a pit by far
malarchy & while we sleep & this again
BALTHVS
sister wife sex strike & rent strike & moon bandits
okay THIS was the best pit i've ever been in
basically an exclusively trans and sick as fuck crowd
fuck fent fest with gottlieb, whoremones, bimbo, sva, post, strathern, and wasted eternities
first two listed were my favorite! gottlieb has probably the best pit i've ever been in & awesome stage presence, and whoremones was amazing, but i was so exhausted by the time they played that i don't think i got to fully enjoy it
didn't get a chance to see bimbo or sva because we left early, and post was early on & chill
strathern & wasted eternities had solid music but the band's vibes were horrid
recently
here's what last.fm says my most recent listens have been:
and here's some musings of mine about my taste recently!
i've not been listening to a lot of music lately-- i think mainly because i'm so focused on reading at the moment. i feel like i usually don't have space for consuming several types of media in my life. it's just a little overwhelming and draining, somehow. i still love music, though, and it's always so wonderful when i take time to really listen
when i do listen, it's mainly been grunge and punk rock for a while now. folk, neosoul, hip hop, and r&b come out when i'm around people who can't handle punk all the time, too, but not much on my own time. i love a lot of different genres, though, and i sort of miss listening to jazz, blues, and country especially. i think there's a reason i'm in this punk rock headspace, though, and i'm sure i'll emerge from it when it's time
now you can check out some of the cassettes and CDs that i own and love! i actually have many more than just these because of collections i've been given by family, but this is just the collection i've created & cultivated myself
